Omniprobe, Inc., Acquires the Assets of Ascend Instruments, LLC
DALLAS, TEXAS, 31-JUL-2007 OMNIPROBE, INC., a supplier of nano-scale failure analysis and process control solutions for nano-scale analysis, announced today that they have acquired the assets of Ascend Instruments, LLC, of Beaverton, Oregon. Ascend Instruments provides hardware and software for sample preparation and manipulation in the Focused Ion Beam (FIB) microscope. In the near term, the Ascend Instruments product line will be manufactured at Omniprobe’s Dallas, Texas, facility. “We at Omniprobe are excited about making our customers’ options for nanotechnology in the FIB and SEM even broader by adding Ascend’s technology to our industry standard line of sample preparation solutions. Over the next few months we will evaluate how to best incorporate Ascend’s technology.” said Tom Moore, Omniprobe’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
In addition, Omniprobe, Inc., has been selected by Entrepreneur magazine for their “Hot 500″ Fastest Growing Companies in the U.S. The Hot 500 rankings are based on company performance and sales growth. The listing appears in the August 2007 issue of Entrepreneur magazine.
Omniprobe, Inc., is the world’s leading supplier of FIB in-situ lift-out equipment for the Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) sample preparation market. Omniprobe’s patented methods and hardware accessories enable the extraction of micron-sized biopsies from semiconductor wafers and other materials in commercially available FIB microscopes and the preparation of these biopsies for atomic scale inspection in the TEM. These methods and accessories extend the sample preparation capabilities of commercially available FIB microscopes into the nano-scale.
